Vancouver-born payout provider included in fifth annual ranking of nation’s best workplaces as it prepares for move to new office.

Hyperwallet, a leading global payouts provider to millions of independent workers, announced today that it has been named amongst the winners of Canada’s Top Small & Medium Employers, an annual competition that recognizes the nation’s best workplaces with less than 500 employees worldwide.

The companies honored in the list were evaluated on a range of criteria including their social atmosphere, health and financial benefits, training and skills development, and participation in the community, as well as how they compare with other organizations in their industry. Hyperwallet has two offices in Vancouver, and the city is home to many of the employees responsible for growing and managing the company’s global financial footprint.

“This award is really a reflection of the engaged culture that we—all Hyperwallet employees—have worked so hard to cultivate,” said Daniel Berardo, Hyperwallet’s EVP of People. “Going forward, we’ll continue to invest in our employee experience and ensure that Hyperwallet remains a great place to work.”

Richard Yerema, Managing Editor of the Canada’s Top 100 Employers project, said of the winners in a MediaCorp release: “For most Canadians, it really is like finding the Holy Grail. These employers offer fun, interesting, engaged workplaces where you can still get benefits like good maternity top-up or a decent retirement savings plan. It’s an attractive combination for employees looking to get the best of both worlds.”

The announcement coincides with Hyperwallet’s move to its new Vancouver office space at the Exchange Building, a vertical extension of the historic Old Stock Exchange building and the tallest Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum-certified tower in the city. Hyperwallet, which is scheduled to move in mid-May, will occupy the 12th and 13th floors of the building.
