Join the Hyperwallet Hackathon in Austin on March 14
Distributing donations during a disaster situation is a difficult task, but it’s an essential component of most relief efforts. Individuals are often forced to leave their homes with nothing, and they need funds to pay for things like food, clothing, and shelter. Still, charities today are limited when it comes to fast, efficient payout options.
What if that could change? What if there was a way that charities could rapidly distribute funds through instant issue prepaid cards, or directly to an existing debit card? What sort of impact would that solution have on the individuals displaced by a disaster?
What if you could help build it?
On March 14th in Austin, Texas, Hyperwallet will be attempting to build the future of donations distribution during our inaugural Hyperwallet Hackathon—and we want you to help us do it.
- WHEN: March 14th, 2017 at 9:30 AM
- WHERE: Visa Everywhere Lounge, 500 San Marcos St. inside the Brew & Brew
- PRIZES: $5,000 in prizes to be won
- CHALLENGE: Using Hyperwallet’s full payout suite—including new API integrations for Visa Direct—developers will have roughly six hours to code a concept payout solution
Presented in partnership with Visa, the Hyperwallet Hackathon challenges developers to collaborate and experiment with emerging payout technologies in order to improve the speed, accessibility, and efficiency of charitable funds distribution during a disaster situation
Donations and proceeds from the event will go to support non-profit organization Upbring and their disaster response programs. Designed to provide much-needed help to families and communities in the aftermath of natural disasters, Upbring’s services provide solace and support throughout Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. Donate to Upbring today.
